Serre Chevalier also adapted the ski resort for the beginner skiers with routes made just for them. To ensure good snow conditions, there are artificial snow machines throughout some skiing areas.

Serre Chevalier has many ski activities like mountainkart or zip lines to keep everyone entertained. In addition to the ski activities, the resort offers a variety of apres-ski bars and pubs like La Colégiale. They also prides themselves on being adapted for families. Some family activities include the Deval’Bobm (tobogganing).

Serre Chevalier skiing: an overview

Situated above 2,000 metres, there are 80% of pistes in Serre Chevalier ski resort with guaranteed snow coverage throughout. Various slope runs are available and adaptable for beginners as well as the more advanced skiers. To break it down, there are 13 black runs ideal for expert skiers who know their way in the snow, 28 red runs for the advanced ones, 25 blue plus 14 green adaptable for beginners and learners who are still getting introduced to the ski world.

60 modern lifts are available to take you to different ski areas. In addition, if you’re learning your way around the slopes, there are ski schools available like “La Salle-les-Alpes” where you can have individual or group lessons. Prices may vary depending on your choices.

Non-skiing activities in Serre Chevalier

At Serre Chevalier, there are a wide range of non-ski activities that are as fun as the skiing itself. Some of them are ziplining, mountain karting, and snowkite. The zip line has an altitude of 2,491 metres and 360° panoramic views of the mountains. This is ideal if you’re looking into challenging yourself to the limits!

Another alternative is mountain biking. You are provided with a three-wheeled racer without a motor, and you will experience 300 metres of vertical drop, and people need to have a minimum of 1.40 height to participate. Snowkite is a newly added activity to the resort. They recommend getting professional help if you have never practiced this before.

Things to do in Serre Chevalier village

If you’re looking into activities off the slopes and in the Serre Chevalier town, there are some must-sees and dos. To start, you can visit the Cité Vauban; it’s a great way to get a taste of the heritage by walking around the roads and local shops. It’s very popular among the people who visit Serre Chevalier.

The Fort des Têtes et non-fort du chateau is another must-see. It’s a former mediaeval fortress overlooking the Vauban city. And, if you’re feeling like catching up on a movie in Serre Chevalier, the place to go is Cinéma Le Lumière, equipped with 3D technology and an advanced soundtrack. The normal ticket is around 7 euros for adults and under 5 euros for children.

Family-friendly and kids’ fun in Serre Chevalier

Are you travelling with the family? Many children’s activities are waiting for you and the kids. Snowshoeing, dog sledding, and paragliding, to name a few.

Paragliding is available all year round, and there is an instructor accompanying you. The adults pay 110 euros, and the child pays 85 euros.

Another activity the whole family can do is the igloofoot, a snowshoe adventure (even pets are welcome), and you have an oriented race to the igloo building, and snacks are available by the end of it. Rates are 35 euros for adults, and children pay less 5 euros. Hiking and biking are other activities to consider.

Après-ski at Serre Chevalier means snowshoeing in the direction of an igloo and having some warm coffee and snacks. You can do it with all your family and friends. The duration is approx. 30 minutes, and you can rent the snowshoes and headlamp at the spot. It’s all included in the price. A group of 2 to 6 people pays 350 euros and 45 euros for every additional person. Worth the cost.

If you like casinos, there is the Circus Casino in Briantons, where there are slot machines and other casino games every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. There are also restaurants, bars, and party rooms inside. Lastly, animations at Serre Chevalier Vallée Briançon are very popular among tourists. There is everything from competitions to concerts to climbing and exhibitions.
